Wedding at the Asylum Chapel

Essex wedding photographer for wanderlust couples

About Lee Allison

Hi, I’m Lee, I live in a small market town in Essex with my fiancé Kelly, and our two dogs Doris and Ralph. When I’m not at a wedding, you’ll find us in an Essex pub for a big Sunday roast! Both big foodies, we’re always looking for the next great place.

Travelling to places such as Dubai, Italy, and Turkey to shoot your weddings is such an honour and I feel so lucky to be able to combine my love of photography with my love of travel.

My photography style is mainly documentary, capturing those fleeting moments that you may not have even seen on the day. It’s these small moments that really inspire me. To be able to give my clients these memories is just the best feeling!

Sunsets, sea and partying, this was the vibe for their fun but relaxed destination wedding in Dubai.

Straight after their epic Ethiopian infused wedding, Dina and Nathaniel flew me out to Santorini to join them on their honeymoon. This was a first for me but WOW, what an awesome idea!!

Natali and Alex live in Belgium but came back to Norwich for a stunning engagement party at Sprowston Manor.

A beautiful wedding at Hales Hall & The Great Barn.

Now this wedding was always going to be a special one for me, having known Jack the groom since our college days. I was chuffed when he asked me to capture his and Jacquie’s big day.

Getting married in Essex

I live in Essex, and I’m a wedding photographer. Honestly, what could be a more perfect combo for your wedding day in the beautiful county of Essex?! You have the most stunning venues to choose from;

Manor houses like Barnston Lodge, Braxted Park, Gosfield Hall, Fennes and Parklands.

Or maybe an outdoor wedding at Browning Bros? How about a Tudor mansion – Leez Priory or a striking Castle – Hedingham Castle?

Maybe a rustic barn is more your thing – Blake Hall or are you after a farmhouse – Houchins?

Choose the cool, chic and romantic Gaines Park or an elegant villa at Hylands Estate and you’re in wedding heaven right there.

It’s a tough choice, but any of these stunning venues will be an awesome option for your wedding day and give the perfect backdrop to your photography.

Your wedding the way you want it

Essex weddings these days are so different to years gone by, and too right! They’d always follow a strict, set format, but today couples are thinking outside of the box and creating a wedding celebration that suits them and their personalities.

There’s much inspiration out there from wedding blogs to imagery on social media. Once you know the day you want, you can match that with the photographer that best fits you and your style.

You need to decide what’s important to you, is it the small details or is it the memories? The photos are the only thing that will be with you for the rest of your life (aside from your partner!)

Are you thinking of eloping? Do you want an epic dress and shoes? Do you want a massive party with over 100 guests? If that’s the case having it close to where you live could be the right choice.

Celebrant led weddings are my favourite and are getting really popular. They make your wedding ceremony so much more personal to you. I can make some great recommendations to help you.

So why book me for your Essex wedding photography?

My natural documentary style is super relaxed and creative. Did I mention I used to be a designer? This is a big benefit when editing photos and designing wedding albums.

I won’t be getting you to pose awkwardly or do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing. My job is to make sure that the photography captures the true essence of your day, and both of you.

I love Essex. It’s a great place to live and I tell everyone I meet they should move here. And because I’m local I can make great recommendations for other brilliant local suppliers and even meet up to chat in real life.

I 100% recommend to anyone thinking of tying the knot in this incredible county of Essex, to go ahead and do it! And if you are, then let’s book a time to talk about your wedding photography.

If you have any questions then please do get in touch!
