Bride and groom walking in the gardens at Hampden House

Hampden House Wedding Photographer | Laura & Jack

I was over the moon to be Laura and Jack’s Hampden House wedding photographer.  Hampden House is a beautiful quintessentially Grade II listed house in Buckinghamshire.

Hampden House, a Grade 1 listed Georgian building, is set in the Chiltern Hills, surrounded by woodland and spectacular parkland. The grounds are particularly impressive, and we had good weather so it gave us the chance to take plenty of outside shots.

I joined the bridal party at the Champneys Hotel in Tring. Make up artist Nicola Beddoes and hair stylist Moira Borg were there to help Laura get ready, ably assisted by her bridesmaids too. Laura chose a full lace sleeved gown by Martina Liana and her bridesmaids looked stunning in navy blue dresses.

Once everyone was ready Laura’s dad came to take her to the church in the snazziest waistcoat I’ve ever seen! I was able to capture the first time Dad saw his daughter in her wedding dress, which was so special and emotional.

Then it was onto Hampden House, the ceremony was held at the venue’s very own church. Space was tight so I only captured photos from the back of the church, but that wasn’t too much of a problem, as you can see I still got some really lovely photos.

After confetti, hugs and kisses the guests headed over to the reception venue. The newlyweds enjoyed some quiet time with a sun-drenched walk through the grounds. As they walked to the reception we captured some wonderful shots under an old willow tree and then among the vast grounds surrounding the house.

Then we arrived at the house, and the incredible room where the wedding breakfast was held. It has been restored to its original Georgian glory, with patterned wallpaper and gold pillars.

Before the meal I got some lovely shots of the guests relaxing in the grounds, and sharing some hugs with the newlyweds. The atmosphere was so special at this time, there was a real feeling of love all round.

On to the speeches, which ranged from tear jerking to hilarious. The father of the bride gave a really emotional speech, which had the bride in tears from the beginning; the groom’s speech was more light-hearted with plenty of laughs.

I got more shots of the guests during the meal, and then it was time for dancing! Laura and Jack took to the dancefloor first, and then everyone else joined them shortly after. This family can throw a party, what a lively lot!

I managed to prise them away from the dance floor for some evening shots, and this shot under the trees is my favourite from the day. The light, the location and, of course, the lovely Laura and Jack made this wedding a joy to photograph and attend.Hampden House in HampshireBridesmaids helping the bride in her dressBride hugs her bridesmaidBride and groom kiss at the end of the ceremonyBride and groom leave the churchBride and groom walking down the aisle of the churchBride and groom leave the church and walk to Hampden HouseBride and groom walking in the gardens at Hampden HouseBride and groom walking down the gardens at Hampden HouseThe dining room at Hampden HouseBride and groom enter the dining room at Hampden HouseGroom lifts up the bride and kisses herBride and groom at nightBride and groom having their first danceBride dances with her guestsGuests dancing on the dancefloor
