Bride and groom hugging in Villa Eva

Ravello Wedding Photographer | Becky and Tom

Amalfi Coast weddings are some of my favourite to shoot, and I was so happy to make a second visit this year for Becky and Tom’s Ravello destination wedding.

By complete coincidence I was back at the same wedding venue too, Villa Eva. As with most destination weddings, I arrived a few days before the wedding. This gave me a chance to catch up with the bride and groom and go over their ideas for their destination wedding.

The couple started their celebrations the night before, with drinks in Ravello Town Square. Lots of couples choose pre-drinks for a destination wedding – it really gets everyone in the party spirit and handily gives me a chance to get to know the guests.

Becky and Tom’s chose a traditional destination wedding – with a ceremony in a beautiful old church in Ravello. The building was pretty magnificent, inside and out and Father John was so welcoming too.

As is traditional with many Villa Eva weddings, after the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests took a short walk down the cobbled streets of Ravello down to the venue. I love this part of the day – the guests get to explore the town a little and the locals are so nice to the bride and groom. A note to any brides planning a Ravello destination wedding – wear shoes suited to walking on cobbles!

The reception started with drinks on the terrace, overlooking the cliffs and the sea. Villa Eva is situated on the highest point in Ravello – giving it unique 360 views of the town and the sea below. Scenery like this makes a destination 100% worthwhile.

The wedding breakfast was held outside in a veranda, sheltered by grape vines and surrounded by tall pillars. Speeches, food and the evening dance party all took place here – the weather was perfect for it!

After drinks I took a walk around the grounds with Becky and Tom for some couple’s photos. The venue is in such an incredible location that you don’t need to leave the grounds to make the most of the scenery. I was able to take photos with backdrops of the sea, cliffs, mountains, Ravello town and the gardens of Villa Eva.

After a delicious meal it was time to party – and Becky and Tom sure rounded off their wedding in style. The party went on until 1am; I got some fantastic photos of the guests having a great time!

It was an honour to shoot Becky and Tom’s day, and fantastic to bring my previous experience of photographing a destination wedding in Ravello too. Thank you guys, I wish you a long and happy future together!
